Lost at Sea

I am three weeks into my Bar Exam review course. Its 4 hours a day of lecture, followed by another 4-7 hours of homework. Amazingly, its not as bad as I thought it would be.

Some subjects are indeed terrible. I am just stupid at evidence; I don't know why, I just don't "get it" like I do other subjects. Contracts, Commercial Transactions and Torts on the other hand aren't too bad.

By the time I finish the 8 week prep class, I will probably be nauseus from doing so many multiple choice practice quizzes and tests. In a way, its almost comical how much stuff you have to cram into your brain in order to take a test. But then again, when the exam itself lasts 16 hours, I suppose they have enough time to quiz your knowledge of pretty much everything you should have learned the previous three years.

One of the interesting parts of the class is all the little heuristics they teach you when taking the multi-state part of the exam. "Always choose a correct statement of law over a correct statement of fact." "Exclusion by way of best evidence rule is a sucker's choice," etc. One of the lecturers reduces all their mnemonic devices to song. I listened to 20 minutes of modified Destiny's Child lyrics today for the purpose of memorizing the forms of real property ownership... the humanity...
