Flag Football!

Yesterday was the first practice session for my upcoming Law School Flag Football team. Our team name is "The Rod Surratt Tribute Band," which is in honor of one of the more 'ecclectic' professors at the law school, a man whose teaching style consists of speaking very quietly for ten seconds, and then immediately erupting into near-shouting as he runs up and down the aisles basically yelling at students to make his point.

What surprised me was that I was actually able to catch a few passes at our practice. Considering that I never played organized football, and haven't even played 'catch' with a football in years, I was a bit nervous. But after seeing the general out-of-shape status that most law students are in, I am feeling much better about my chances.

Our first game is tomorrow afternoon, so for the next 24 hours I will be motivating myself by watching this clip of Bo Jackson putting up huge yards in Tecmo Bowl.
