We finally made it to Philadelphia. We thought about going a few times while we lived in Syracuse, but when it came down to getting in the car and driving a few hours we couldn't help but head toward NYC or Boston. Since we now only live a short train ride away we decided to go for Pres. day weekend. My lovely old roommate Jessica happens to live about 30 minutes out of Philly and was kind enough to let us stay in her adorable new house and gave us a day tour of the city. Since we only had a few hours until another snowstorm rolled in we just hit the highlights of the city:

We saw the Liberty bell and took a tour of Independence Hall

Ate some Cheese steaks. Jim was a little hesitant to try the original cheese steak (which has cheese whiz) but I say embrace it.

And went to the Whole Foods:) (We had to park at Whole Foods and for some reason this is the only picture we took of the group of us)
We had lots of fun, THANKS JESSICA!!!

Looked like fun! And weird about Cheese Whiz on a philly cheese steak. I'd have to side with Jimbo on this one... I'd hesitate too!
what a fun time. the sandwich looks wonderful! great post.
another reason why new york city is so cool...you can see the liberty bell on a day trip!
This has nothing to do with the post, but I was just listening to the "birth" song by the faint and remembered jim's dramatic reading of that song. it made me smile. miss you guys!
Hey Melissa. :)
I am commenting here since I can't on your blog. Just wanted to say how much I LOVE your post about your apartment. So cute! And so fun to see the pics of the bedroom and your closet and stuff. I LOVE the fabric you got from the fabric store and I love the green of your couch/futon.
I can't wait to visit!! Hopefully Jim will have some kick ass old skool video game tourney to go to in China Town again. Because I can't believe I missed it!!
