Though my next political post will deal with the Supreme Court, I haven't actually crafted it yet. In the meantime, I have discovered a very fascinating list, it is the top ten highest grossing films of all time. However, unlike the list most people see and have heard of which only looks at nominal dollar figures, this list here takes into account inflation, and shows what the highest grossing films of all time are when "real" dollars are used, adjusting each films gross adjusted take to 1998 levels. The main impression I have from the list is...... Dr. Zhivago ???!!
1) Gone With The Wind - 959.8 (million dollars when adjusted to 1998 inflationary levels)
2) Star Wars - 835.3
3) The Sound of Music - 667.9
4) E.T. - 637.8
5) The 10 Commandments - 614.4
6) Titanic - 613.7
7) Jaws - 600.7
8) Doctor Zhivago - 513.7
9) Snow White - 511.2
10) Mary Poppins - 505.0
